Rugby league history

This was a full rugby league international Test between Wales and England, staged in an era when the code (then still widely called the Northern Union) periodically played internationals at varied southern and western English venues to try to grow its following outside its traditional northern heartland — Plymouth's single 1913 international fits that pattern, similar in spirit to London Broncos' later relocated fixtures at Welford Road, Leicester. England's scorers included Harold Wagstaff, later renowned as one of the greatest players of the pre-WWI and interwar era and captain of Huddersfield's famous "Team of All Talents" and of Great Britain.

The long-standing home of Plymouth Argyle F.C. (football), since 1903.
