Rugby league history
Named after Ivor Preece (1920-1987), a Coventry-born rugby union fly-half who captained England and Coventry RFC and later served as Broadstreet RFC's president. The 46-acre Binley Woods complex is primarily a rugby union venue, also used by Premiership side Wasps for shield matches and for Deaf Rugby Union internationals. Coventry Bears played three RFL League 1 fixtures here in 2019, the best-attended a 396-crowd loss to North Wales Crusaders, the top figure recorded on this site.
