Name history
Rugby league history
Lakeside Sporting Complex is a multi-field community sporting precinct in Raymond Terrace, near Newcastle, home to two local rugby league clubs. Its two recorded higher-tier matches, both directly confirmed against Rugby League Project, involved the Newcastle Knights: a 2023 NSWRL Women's Premiership fixture (Newcastle Knights 30-4 Mounties) and a 2025 NSW Cup fixture (Newcastle Knights Reserves 12-26 Penrith Panthers Reserves). Port Stephens Council has adopted a 20-year masterplan to expand the complex into a boutique stadium of 10,000-15,000 capacity, citing its proximity to Newcastle and the M1 motorway.
