McLaren Field
Leeds (Bramley), West Yorkshire, England
McLaren Field, Leeds (Bramley), England — opened 1965, 548 rugby league games hosted, home of Bramley R.L.F.C. (1965–1995; the original club folded in 1999 and never returned here — see context).
Sourcing caveat: The brief provided with this research task suggested McLaren Field might be Bramley's current ground; sources found are consistent and clear that it is not — Bramley left the ground in 1995, the original club folded in 1999, and the site itself was later redeveloped as housing. This entry documents it as a historic, closed ground rather than a current one.

Name history
- McLaren Field — 1965–1995 (named after Edith McLaren, whose bequest funded the ground)
Rugby league history
McLaren Field was Bramley RLFC's home for 30 years, replacing their previous long-time Barley Mow ground (used since the late 19th century, and covered separately on this site). The ground and its funding came from a bequest by Edith McLaren, widow of a managing director at Leeds engineering firm J&H McLaren & Co, on condition any development on the site carry her name. Bramley left McLaren Field in 1995 when the club could no longer afford the ground improvements required, moving briefly to Clarence Field, Kirkstall (1995–96) and then to Headingley Rugby Stadium (1997–99) as tenants of Leeds. The original Bramley RLFC resigned from the Northern Ford Premiership at the end of the 1999 season and folded — it never played at its own ground again after leaving McLaren Field. A phoenix club, Bramley Buffaloes, was later formed by supporters and plays at a different ground today. The site was ultimately redeveloped for housing, aptly named McLaren Fields, though the old clubhouse building survives in use as a children's nursery. McLaren Field was also used for several years by the Leeds Cougars American football club.
