Rugby league history
Home ground for a modern amateur Normanton rugby league club (Challenge Cup fixtures 2010-2020). Rugby league in Normanton has a much older, entirely separate professional history: an 1879 club joined the Northern Union in 1898-99 and folded in 1905-06 amid financial trouble, with a successor amateur club ("Hopetown F.C.") evolving into today's set-up — that history belongs to a different ground (Mopsey Garth) and is documented here only to avoid it being confused with this venue's own, much more recent record.
