Name history
Rugby league history
Snake Lane is a former local recreation ground in the Cross Green area of East Leeds, used for decades by various community clubs before a rugby pitch was established there. It hosted three Challenge Cup preliminary-round matches for East Leeds ARLFC across the 1993-94 and 1994-95 seasons, all home wins against Cumbrian amateur sides Kells, Egremont and Wath Brow Hornets -- a brief interlude away from the club's usual Richmond Hill ground that is not explained in any source found.
