Rugby league history
A council-owned multi-sport reserve in the Sutherland Shire, historically significant chiefly as the very first home ground of the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks when they entered the NSWRFL premiership in 1967, before the club moved to its long-term home at Endeavour Field (Sharks Stadium/PointsBet Stadium) in 1969. Also historically home to Sutherland Sharks FC (soccer), late 1950s-1958, before that club relocated to Seymour Shaw Park; Southern Sharks played in the 2008 Jim Beam Cup (lower-tier/feeder rugby league) at the venue. Today it's a suburban multi-code sporting complex (cricket, soccer, rugby league) rather than a first-grade rugby league venue.
Also historically hosted Sutherland Sharks FC (soccer) and is used for cricket today.
