Name history
Rugby league history
Tom Knight Memorial Oval, today home to the amateur Cobar Roosters, hosted its sole recorded top-flight match on 25 February 1995: a Tooheys Challenge Cup semi-final in which the Brisbane Broncos defeated North Sydney 36-6 before a crowd of 7,122. The Tooheys Challenge Cup deliberately staged rounds in regional NSW and Queensland towns, and a glamour club like Brisbane appearing in the small outback mining town of Cobar explains the unusually large crowd.
