Name history

    Rugby league history

A large (~24-acre) privately owned multi-pitch sports ground in Acton, west London, built for the Gas Light and Coke Company's staff recreation. It passed through several owners over the 20th century -- including a spell owned by Loftus Road plc (the QPR ownership group) from 2000 -- before amateur rugby union club Wasps FC bought it in December 2005 as their new home. The professional Wasps RFC (Premiership team) also used it as a training base (not a matchday ground) until the end of the 2015-16 season, a separate entity from the amateur Wasps FC club that owns the ground today. Rugby league use is limited to the amateur Wests Warriors, who have played Challenge Cup home ties here since 2023 -- all four recorded matches are early-round Challenge Cup fixtures with no notable results beyond routine community-club level. No capacity, floodlight, or playing-surface details could be found in any source checked.
