Rugby league history
Wilmere Lane Sports Ground in Widnes is a council-owned, multi-pitch playing field complex and the established home ground of community club Halton Farnworth Hornets, founded in 1975. All 6 recorded fixtures are 2026 Women's Championship matches with Widnes Vikings Women as the home side, suggesting the club staged its women's fixtures at this community ground that season rather than at its men's stadium, though no source directly confirms the reason.
