1944 NFL Season — Final Standings
Final regular-season standings. The Rams and Eagles resumed independent play and Boston Yanks joined as an expansion franchise, but talent shortages persisted severely enough that Pittsburgh, coming off the Steagles experience, merged again — this time with the Chicago Cardinals, forming "Card-Pitt" (0-10-0, Western Division), remembered as one of the worst teams in NFL history. Brooklyn, renamed the Tigers this season, also finished 0-10 in the Eastern Division, the only time two teams matched that mark in the same season. Green Bay beat the Giants for the championship.
