1961 Season — Final Standings (NFL & AFL)

Final regular-season standings. The AFL's Chargers relocated from Los Angeles to San Diego after just one season (financial losses forced the January 1961 move to Balboa Stadium) and improved to 12-2, but again lost the AFL Championship Game to Houston, 10-3, making the Oilers back-to-back champions. The NFL added its second expansion team in as many years, the Minnesota Vikings (Western Conference), while Vince Lombardi's Packers avenged their 1960 title-game defeat with a 37-0 rout of the New York Giants for Green Bay's first championship of the Lombardi dynasty.
