1970 NFL Season — Final Standings

Final regular-season standings for the AFL-NFL merger's inaugural season, the first under the current AFC/NFC conference structure. To balance the merged 26-team league at 13 teams per conference, three former NFL clubs (Baltimore Colts, Cleveland Browns, Pittsburgh Steelers) moved into the new AFC alongside the ten former AFL teams, while the remaining 13 old-NFL clubs formed the NFC intact. It was fittingly one of those transplanted teams, Baltimore, that beat an original-NFL Dallas in Super Bowl V. This was the first season of the merger-era 3-division-winners-plus-1-wild-card (8-team) playoff format.
