Rugby league history
A Wigan ground originally built in 1950 for Orrell RUFC, later used by Wigan Warriors as a training base from 2007, and redeveloped into a joint elite women's facility with Wigan Athletic, reopening in May 2025. Wigan Warriors Women made it their home ground from the 2026 season, and it has also hosted at least one men's Championship fixture as an away venue.
