Everton Stadium

Liverpool, Merseyside, England

Everton Stadium, Liverpool, England — opened 17 February 2025, 7 rugby league games hosted, home of Everton F.C. (Premier League), primary tenant since 2025, replacing Goodison Park; no permanent rugby league tenant.

Sourcing caveat: This venue's current official name is Hill Dickinson Stadium (a May 2025 sponsorship rename); we list it under "Everton Stadium," its construction-era and still widely used common name, to match our venue directory. Only the November 2025 Ashes Test could be independently confirmed as an individual completed rugby league fixture here; the remainder of our recorded games total (up to 2026) is most likely the scheduled Super League Magic Weekend, not independently itemised match-by-match. Floodlight and precise pitch-surface details were not confirmed.

Rugby league history

Everton's new riverside stadium at Bramley-Moore Dock, built to replace the 130-year-old Goodison Park for the 2025-26 season, was explicitly designed to also host "world-class sporting and entertainment events" beyond football. Its selection to stage the second Test of the 2025 Rugby League Ashes — England's first home Ashes series against Australia in 22 years — marked a high-profile early use of the venue outside football, drawing a crowd of 52,106. The ground is also scheduled to host Super League's 2026 Magic Weekend (a multi-game showcase round normally rotated among major stadiums), which plausibly accounts for the remainder of our recorded games total beyond the single confirmed Ashes Test, though the individual Magic Weekend fixtures were not independently verified as completed matches.

Primary home of Everton F.C. (Premier League) since 2025; also shortlisted to host Euro 2028 football fixtures.

Historic Test matches, Cup & Grand Finals hosted

  • 1 November 2025 — England 4-14 Australia, Rugby League Ashes 2nd Test (52,106) — part of a three-Test Ashes series (Wembley Stadium, this venue, then Headingley) marking the Ashes' return after a 22-year absence
