Name history
Rugby league history
Ince Rose Bridge Sports and Community Club in Higher Ince, Wigan, traces its heritage to 1926, with the modern club formed in 2001 from a merger of Rose Bridge Open Age Rugby League, Ince St Williams Junior Rugby and Ince Bowling Club. Beyond hosting its own Challenge Cup fixtures, the ground has also served as a home venue for the Manchester Swinton Lionesses (Swinton Lions' women's team) throughout their 2026 Women's Championship campaign, an apparent groundshare arrangement confirmed by club and local news coverage of that season.
