Rugby league history
Owned by the Redcliffe Dolphins Rugby League Club, the ground was the long-time home of Redcliffe's Queensland Cup team and hosted six Queensland Cup Grand Finals between 2001 and 2022. When the separate NRL Dolphins franchise entered the competition in 2023, the venue became the club's training base and a secondary home ground — the Dolphins play the great majority of their NRL home games (around nine of twelve a season) at the much larger Suncorp Stadium, with only a handful of fixtures at Kayo Stadium itself.
