Rugby league history
This ground's rugby league use is not a local amateur side but London Broncos, the professional Super League/Championship club, using it as a deliberate secondary venue in Kent since 2022 to help build their profile and draw bigger crowds outside their main South London base. That effort reached a high point on 12 July 2024, when the Broncos hosted Castleford Tigers there in what was billed as the first-ever Super League match played at the ground, drawing our recorded top crowd of 2,050. The venue's dominant identity, both before and throughout this period, remains as Ebbsfleet United's football home, where it has hosted the club (as Gravesend & Northfleet, then Ebbsfleet United) since 1946 and recorded a football attendance of 12,032 for an FA Cup fourth-round tie against Sunderland in February 1963.
Primarily a football ground: home of Ebbsfleet United FC since 1946 (as Gravesend & Northfleet), with a record football attendance of 12,032 (FA Cup, February 1963).
