1974-75 NBA Season Standings

The Golden State Warriors, led by Rick Barry, stunned the heavily favored Washington Bullets with a 4-0 sweep in the NBA Finals despite Washington tying Boston for the league's best regular-season record at 60-22; Barry averaged nearly 30 points per game in the series and was named Finals MVP. The expansion New Orleans Jazz debuted this season in the Central Division, growing the league to 18 teams, and immediately became one of the more colorful additions of the era despite a rough first year on the court. Golden State's championship run is still remembered as one of the biggest upsets in Finals history, since the Warriors had finished the regular season with a comparatively modest 48-34 record while Washington's 60-win team had been considered the league's best all year.

Sourcing caveat: Boston and Washington tied atop the East at 60-22 (both shown with GB '-'); Cleveland and New York tied at 40-42, as did Portland and Milwaukee in the West at 38-44. 18 teams total (9 East, 9 West).
