1962 Season — Final Standings (NFL & AFL)

Final regular-season standings for both leagues, still under each league's simplest pre-realignment structure: the NFL as two flat, undivided seven-team conferences, and the AFL as a flat four-team Eastern/Western split. Green Bay went 13-1 and beat the Giants in a brutally cold NFL Championship Game rematch of 1961. The AFL crowned the Dallas Texans, who beat Houston 20-17 in a double-overtime championship game — one of the longest professional football games played to that point. The Texans' 1962 title turned out to be their only one under that name before relocating.
