1979 NFL Season — Final Standings
Final regular-season standings. Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in just their 4th season, won the NFC Central at 10-6 for their first-ever division title and playoff appearance. Philadelphia (11-5) matched division winner Dallas's record but had to settle for a wild-card seed, since division winners are always seeded above wild cards regardless of record. Detroit and San Francisco tied for the league's worst record at 2-14.
