Match report
Hull KR dominated the opening 40 minutes, building a 10-0 half-time lead: James Batchelor powered over in the 16th minute despite three defenders trying to hold him up, and Joe Burgess forced his way over in the 34th (a grounding referred to and confirmed by the video referee), with Mikey Lewis converting the second. Warrington also had an early try by Matt Dufty ruled out for obstruction in the build-up. Sam Burgess's Warrington, playing in his first season as head coach, came out much the better side after the break: Matty Ashton — marking his 100th Wolves appearance — scored in the 45th minute and again in the 58th with a spectacular corner finish, cutting the gap to 10-8, though both conversions were missed. Warrington pushed hard late for a match-winning try through Josh Thewlis, but it was disallowed after the video referee ruled Dufty had knocked the ball on in the build-up. Hull KR's defence held to secure a two-point win and send the club to its first-ever Super League Grand Final. Hull KR captain James Batchelor: "It feels pretty good but the job's not done."
