Rugby league history
Built at Barton-upon-Irwell near the Manchester Ship Canal and M60, this stadium became Salford's home for the 2012 season after the club left The Willows. It has been a shared rugby league/rugby union venue from the outset, also serving as the home of Sale Sharks since the 2012-13 season. The naming rights have changed hands repeatedly: it opened as Salford Community Stadium, was sponsored as AJ Bell Stadium from 2013 to 2023, reverted briefly to Salford Community Stadium, and became CorpAcq Stadium in 2025 under a new sponsorship deal (announced via Sale Sharks, who lead the naming-rights arrangement). Salford's own attendance record at the ground is 10,867, set against Leigh Leopards in the 2024 Super League play-offs.
