Ground facts
| Opened | Not confirmed for rugby league use (This venue is best known as Altrincham F.C.'s football ground (from 1910), but the football club has NO rugby league connection, and neither does the separate, much earlier 'Altrincham' Northern Union club (1901-02 season, played at Stamford Park, folded eight years before Altrincham F.C. even moved to Moss Lane). The actual rugby league tenant, identified via direct WebFetch verification of Rugby League Project's own match-results page, was Trafford Borough (1989-92) — an itinerant club with a long chain of former names and grounds (see name_history), unrelated to Altrincham F.C. or the historic Altrincham RL club.) |

Rugby league history
Best known as Altrincham F.C.'s home football ground since 1910, but its rugby league history is unconnected to the football club: Trafford Borough, one incarnation of a much-travelled, frequently-renamed rugby league club, played its 1989-92 seasons here in the Second then Third Division, with 39 matches recorded, including a 1990/91 Regal Trophy tie vs Doncaster and a 1989/90 Regal Trophy tie vs Featherstone. Attendances ranged from as low as 138 up to 2,284. The final recorded match was 22 Mar 1992 vs Keighley, after which the club moved on again, becoming Blackpool Gladiators.
Primary long-term tenant is Altrincham F.C. (football), unrelated to the ground's rugby league history.
