Sourcing caveat: The exact minute of Sneyd's second (missed) goal attempt, and of Moylan's two missed conversion attempts, aren't identified in sources found. One lower-confidence source gave Ipape's try as 67' rather than 66' and Charnley's as 54' rather than 53' — the minutes used here are the ones consistently reported by the two most detailed, congruent sources.

Match report
Salford, hosting their first home play-off match in five years, dominated the opening exchanges but could only turn that pressure into a single Marc Sneyd penalty goal, leading 2-0 at half-time in front of a club-record 10,867 crowd. Leigh flipped the contest after the break: Josh Charnley scored an acrobatic corner try in the 53rd minute to level the scores, Gareth O'Brien extended the lead nine minutes later, and hooker Edwin Ipape added a third Leopards try in the 66th minute to put the game out of reach. Salford's Ethan Ryan grabbed a late consolation try, but it was too little too late. The match had a difficult sub-plot: Leigh's Josh Charnley was withdrawn for a head injury assessment during the game. Jack Hughes was sin-binned for obstruction in the closing minutes. It was Leigh's first-ever Super League play-off semi-final appearance.
