Match report
This was the second of two 2025 Super League play-off semi-finals, played at the Brick Community Stadium on 3 October 2025. The build-up was overshadowed by a ticketing dispute in which Leigh Leopards owner Derek Beaumont initially threatened to refuse to fulfil the fixture over away-ticket allocations, before the club backed down and named its squad. On the field, Wigan took control through two Bevan French tries either side of a Robbie Mulhern response for Leigh, leading 14-6 at the break, before Sam Walters' 80th-minute try sealed the win. The result sent reigning champions Wigan Warriors to a third consecutive Grand Final and their equal-record 14th overall Grand Final appearance, where they would face Hull KR at Old Trafford. Leigh, semi-finalists again after 2024, were left to reflect on a narrow defeat, with coach Adrian Lam saying "We're close, we're really really close," against Wigan's Matt Peet noting "You've got to peak at the right time."
