2008-09 NBA Season Standings

The Los Angeles Lakers beat the Orlando Magic 4-1 in the Finals. The Cleveland Cavaliers posted a league-best 66-16 record behind MVP LeBron James but fell to Orlando in the Eastern Conference Finals. All three East division winners (Cleveland, Boston, Orlando) already held the top three spots on raw record, so the division-winner guarantee did not need to override any standings.
