2015-16 NBA Season Standings
The Warriors set the all-time regular-season wins record at 73-9, breaking the 1995-96 Bulls' mark of 72-10, with Stephen Curry becoming the first unanimous MVP. Golden State then blew a 3-1 Finals lead to Cleveland, who won the franchise's first championship behind LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. This was the first season under the new seeding rule that ranks all eight playoff teams per conference strictly by record, regardless of division titles.
Sourcing caveat: The East's four-way tie at 48-34 (Miami, Atlanta, Boston, Charlotte) is ordered 3-4-5-6 per verified 2016 first-round matchups (Miami-Charlotte, Boston-Atlanta) on Basketball-Reference's playoff pages, which differs from the order shown by some secondary sources.
