Match report

17 Sep 1910, Royal Agricultural Society Showground. Halftime: South Sydney 4, Newtown 0. Jim Davis (South Sydney) was sent off during the match. Newtown's second goal came from a fair mark awarded to centre Alby Hawkes after he fielded a clearing kick from South Sydney's Howard Hallett near fulltime, converted by Charlie Russell to level the scores 4-4 in the match's dying moments. No tries were scored by either side; both teams' points came entirely from goals. No replay was played: Newtown had finished the regular season as minor premiers (1st) with South Sydney 2nd, and under this era's rules a drawn Final was resolved in favour of the higher-placed team on the table, so Newtown were awarded the 1910 premiership by virtue of their table position rather than any subsequent playoff match.
