1922 NSWRFL Season

The fifteenth Sydney premiership season featured nine teams over sixteen rounds. Glebe and North Sydney finished level on top of the table on 28 competition points, so a grand final was staged to decide the premiership. North Sydney won convincingly, 35-3, over Glebe at the Sydney Cricket Ground on 6 September 1922 before around 15,000 spectators, with Harold Horder contributing two tries and seven goals. St. George had a poor season in only their second year, winning just two games and conceding 316 points. Eastern Suburbs and South Sydney finished third and fourth with winning records, and Balmain rounded out the top half of the table. Western Suburbs, Newtown and University occupied the lower-middle positions, each with losing records, before St. George's wooden-spoon finish at the bottom of the ladder.

Sourcing caveat: South Sydney and University are listed with 15 matches played versus 16 for the rest of the competition, reflecting an unplayed or forfeited fixture rather than a data error; points-for/against totals across the whole ladder balance exactly (1,803 for = 1,803 against).
