1989 NSWRL Winfield Cup — Final Regular-Season Ladder
16 clubs, a 22-round unbalanced/partial round-robin draw. Gold Coast played as the "Gold Coast/Tweed Heads Giants" this season, before rebranding to the Gold Coast Seagulls in the early 1990s.
Sourcing caveat: 13th vs 14th is a genuine, unresolved source disagreement: Gold Coast/Tweed Heads Giants and Western Suburbs finished dead level on record (7-1-14), points difference (-160) and competition points (15) — Rugby League Project orders Gold Coast 13th, a Grokipedia mirror orders Western Suburbs 13th, and neither states its tiebreak rule explicitly; we've kept RLP's ordering as the primary source rather than guessing. Cronulla and Brisbane were also level on 28 points (Brisbane ahead on differential, +108 vs +87) but some narrative sources describe a mid-season playoff deciding 'finals seeding' between them separately from this ladder order. Canberra Raiders won the Grand Final 19-14 over Balmain from 4th on the ladder.
