1997 Super League Telstra Cup — Final Ladder
10 clubs. The rebel News Corp-backed competition run in parallel with the ARL's 1997 Optus Cup during the peak year of the Super League War. An 18-round regular season.
Sourcing caveat: Three brand-new News Corp-backed franchises (Perth Reds, Adelaide Rams, Hunter Mariners) were created purely to compete in this rebel competition and folded within a few years of the 1998 reunification. Brisbane completed the double, winning the Grand Final 26-8 over Cronulla having also finished minor premiers.
