Semi-Final, 1940 NRL finals series: Eastern Suburbs Roosters 10–3 St. George, at Sydney Cricket Ground, Sydney, NSW on 17 Aug 1940.
Sourcing caveat: RLP's scoresheet lists Dunn and Norval together with a single try-count note; an earlier automated read took this as Norval scoring 2, but the raw scoresheet shows no number next to either name, and 1 try each (2 total) is the reading that reconciles with the 10-point score.
