Match report
Playing their first Finals Week 1 Elimination Final of the 2019 season, an under-strength Manly-Warringah Sea Eagles side hosted the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks at Lottoland, Brookvale. Manly stormed to an 18-0 lead inside the first 20 minutes through tries to Api Koroisau, Moses Suli and Brad Parker (the latter following a contentious video-referee grounding decision), taking an 18-4 lead into the sheds. Cronulla, whose captain Paul Gallen was playing what proved to be the final match of his storied career, hit back through Bronson Xerri and Aaron Gray in the second half, but a try to prop Addin Fonua-Blake restored Manly's buffer before a late Josh Morris try off a chip-kick play was too little, too late. The 28-16 victory extended Manly's home dominance over Cronulla and eliminated the Sharks from the finals.
