Match report

In a frenetic elimination final at ANZ Stadium, South Sydney overcame a resilient Manly outfit 34-26 to advance to the preliminary final against Canberra. The lead changed hands multiple times, with the sides locked together at halftime after a high-scoring opening period. Cameron Murray was the game's dominant figure, scoring twice and earning best-on-ground rating from NRL.com's player ratings panel, while Alex Johnston, Cody Walker and veteran John Sutton also crossed for the Rabbitohs, with Adam Reynolds converting seven of nine attempts. Manly refused to fold, with tries to Daly Cherry-Evans, Jack Gosiewski, Brad Parker, Moses Suli and Corey Waddell keeping the scoreline close deep into the second half. Discipline played a decisive role: Cody Walker was sin-binned for South Sydney, while Manly lost both Brad Parker and Jake Trbojevic to the bin, the latter proving pivotal as Souths capitalised on a two-man advantage to pull away late.
