Match report
Melbourne Storm outclassed Parramatta 32-0 in Finals Week 2 of the 2019 season, played at AAMI Park. It was a do-or-die semi-final: Melbourne had dropped their qualifying final to Canberra the week prior, while Parramatta arrived off an emphatic elimination-final win over Brisbane. The Eels instead suffered a shutout, extending their poor finals record against the Storm to six defeats since 1999. Melbourne raced to a commanding halftime lead built on tries to Josh Addo-Carr, Suliasi Vunivalu, Cameron Munster and Jahrome Hughes, before further second-half tries sealed the result. Winger Josh Addo-Carr finished with a double, while captain Cameron Smith struggled with the boot, converting only one of six attempts, before being sin-binned late in the contest. The win sent Melbourne through to a preliminary final against the Sydney Roosters, where their season ultimately ended.
