Match report

Melbourne Storm defeated Parramatta Eels 36-24 in the Qualifying Final of the 2020 NRL Finals Series at Suncorp Stadium, Brisbane. Parramatta raced to an early 12-0 lead through tries to Nathan Brown and Clint Gutherson, both converted by Mitchell Moses, but Melbourne hit back to level the scores by half-time. The Storm then produced a decisive second-half surge, with fullback Ryan Papenhuyzen scoring twice either side of tries from Suliasi Vunivalu, Josh Addo-Carr, Jesse Bromwich and Brenko Lee, with Cameron Smith converting all six. Parramatta rallied late with two further tries to winger Blake Ferguson but could not close the gap. The win extended Melbourne's finals dominance over Parramatta and sent the Storm through to their sixth consecutive preliminary final, earning a week's rest, though the result was overshadowed by a knee injury to five-eighth Cameron Munster.
