Match report

Sydney struck first through Mark Nawaqanitawase, but Cronulla hit back immediately with a Ronaldo Mulitalo double either side of half-time to lead 12-4 at the break. Angus Crichton's try cut the margin after half-time, but Nicho Hynes's boot — including a 69th-minute penalty goal — kept the Sharks in front, and Toby Rudolf's late try sealed a 20-10 win with five minutes remaining. The match was overshadowed by a brawl among spectators on the hill, investigated by NRL and NSW Police as a crowd incident rather than a playing one. Cronulla advanced; Sydney's season ended.
