Match report
One of the biggest boilovers of the 2000 finals — 7th-placed Parramatta dismantled minor-premiership contender Sydney Roosters at their home ground, 32-8. Nathan and Jim Hindmarsh dominated through the middle for the Eels, while the Roosters' inexperience at finals level (their first finals series since 1980) showed. The loss forced Sydney into the sudden-death Semi-Final pathway.
