Sourcing caveat: Exact goal-kicking attempt denominators were inconsistently reported across sources; the made-goal counts and try scorers are well corroborated by matching the final score arithmetic, but treat exact attempt fractions as approximate. rugbyleagueproject.org's own records label this game a 'Qualifying Final' (3v6 pairing); this site follows the structural naming convention already used for 2011-2025, not a factual discrepancy.

Match report
This qualifying-week final carried real stakes: the winner earned a home semi-final, while the loser dropped into the sudden-death second week. Wests Tigers controlled the first half and led 10-2 at the break, extending the margin to 15-2 with an early second-half try before Sydney Roosters mounted a stirring comeback led by Todd Carney's kicking game and general play. Tries to Braith Anasta and Mitchell Pearce, combined with Carney's boot, dragged the Roosters level, and with time almost up Anasta slotted a pressure 35-metre field goal to force golden-point extra time at 15-all. The decider came fast and dramatic: in the 101st minute, Shaun Kenny-Dowall intercepted a Liam Fulton pass and sprinted the length of the field to score the match-winner, completing a stirring comeback and denying the Tigers on their home turf. It was reported as the first golden-point finals match in NRL history.
