Match report
Brisbane, chasing its first grand final appearance since 2006, hosted minor premiers Sydney Roosters at Suncorp Stadium. The Broncos set the tone almost immediately when a loose pass from Roosters winger Shaun Kenny-Dowall was intercepted by fullback Darius Boyd for the opening try inside two minutes, and Brisbane built a commanding 20-12 half-time lead behind further tries to halfback Ben Hunt, hooker Andrew McCullough and winger Corey Oates. Sydney's response came almost entirely through winger Blake Ferguson, who crossed twice, but the Roosters' night was complicated when playmaker Mitchell Pearce was forced off with a knee injury. Brisbane pulled away in the second half with further tries to Anthony Milford and centre Jack Reed, plus a Milford field goal, to complete a 31-12 victory that sent the Broncos through to face North Queensland in the Grand Final.
