Match report
Penrith's 22-10 win over Manly-Warringah in the 2017 NRL Finals Week 1 elimination final, played at Allianz Stadium on 9 September 2017, ended the Sea Eagles' season and continued the Panthers' late-season surge under coach Anthony Griffin. Manly were unable to match Penrith's control through the middle of the field, with halfback Nathan Cleary directing traffic with the boot and landing all five of his conversion attempts. Bryce Cartwright was Penrith's most prolific finisher with a double, while Tyrone Peachey also crossed to help the Panthers build an unassailable buffer. Manly's response, built around a try from Lewis Brown, was not enough to overturn the deficit. The result sent Penrith through to face the Brisbane Broncos in the second week of the finals, while Manly-Warringah's campaign came to an end.
